What shipped
A running log of platform milestones: new datasets, new products, and changes to how the data is delivered. Entries are grouped by month and describe what actually shipped, not what is planned.
Data freshness, methodology, and comparison pages; property feed API and webhooks
Published the data freshness page (per-source health board) and the methodology page (how records are deduplicated, gated, and counted), added comparison pages against other providers, and shipped a property feed API with webhook subscriptions.
Property events layer reaches 52M records
The property events layer (violations, code enforcement, and related municipal actions) grew to roughly 52 million records across about 60 source feeds.
Permit ingestion round two complete
Completed a second full ingestion pass across 2,271 towns and jurisdictions, and brought source health monitoring and QA flags online to track every feed's status going forward.
Data API v1 launched
Shipped v1 of the public data API on datajackpot.net, with scoped API keys, per-key rate limiting, usage metering, and published documentation.
National expansion: permits, parcels, and certificates of occupancy
Extended permit coverage to roughly 47 states, completed the 80.5 million-parcel nationwide dataset, and loaded 1.28 million certificates of occupancy.
PermitIQ: Austin permit pre-check
Built PermitIQ, a private preview tool that checks a proposed Austin project against zoning rules (FAR, setbacks, minimum lot size) and back-tests results against thousands of approved permits.
Use cases page and site remodel
Added a public use-cases page, redesigned the landing page around live database numbers and an interactive coverage map, and rebuilt the export flow with keyset pagination so deep exports no longer time out.
MCP server for the permit database
Launched a key-gated, metered MCP server so any MCP client can query the permit database directly, with CORS support for browser-based connectors.
Contractor and parcel data domains added
Stood up the parcel acquisition pipeline (now 80.5 million parcels) and the contractor license domain (now roughly 3.1 million contractor records across 38 states), each with its own scoped ingestion and gating.
Certificates of occupancy dataset introduced
Added certificates of occupancy as a new, separately tagged record class, with an initial national discovery wave covering about 331,000 records.
Export-first strategy
Rebuilt the Export tab as the primary product surface, with per-source-type filtering and a bulk download runner, shifting the platform's focus toward data export and licensing.
