47.1M+ building permit records from 2,277 US jurisdictions — city and county portals, state open-data feeds, and clerk-sourced records from towns that publish nothing online.
What a record contains
- Permit number, type, status, and description
- Issue, application, and finalization dates where the jurisdiction publishes them
- Property address, normalized and parcel-matched where possible
- Project value, contractor, and owner fields where the source fills them
How it is sourced
Aggregated from municipal permit portals, state open-data programs, and direct records requests to town and village clerks — including jurisdictions with no online portal at all, which is where most national datasets go dark. Freshness by source is published on the freshness page; how records attach to parcels, with per-county match rates, on the data quality page.
Field fill rates
Sampled from production and published on purpose: buyers should know what a field actually fills at before they license it.
